An article in the February issue of Best Life Magazine draws attention to the growing number of so called farm-to-table restaurants by naming the Top 25 places in the country that make a point of serving “food that is fresh, local, and sustainable–three qualities that add up to tastier, healthier meals.”   The list includes legendary dining rooms such as Chez Panisse and Blue Hill at Stone Barns, but there are plenty of interesting and unconventional choices here, many of which I’ve never heard.

What’s particularly gratifying to me looking at this list is seeing how chefs are raising the profile of local, sustainable food and bringing farmers in to share the spotlight. The celebrity chef revolution has already happened - should we now start preparing for the celebrity farmer revolution? Make a comment and let me know what you think, and for those who are curious, here’s the full list - please check out the original article for more information on each restaurant and their respective websites.
